The Pipeline Infrastructure Nigeria Limited has confirmed an attack on the Trans Niger Pipeline at the Odau area in the Abua/Odual Local Government Area of Rivers State, which resulted in a gas leak.
The TNP, which criss-cross several states in the Niger Delta, transports crude oil to the Bonny Terminal on the Bonny Island for export.
Recall that suspected militants had last week attacked Odau community in Abua/Odual LGA, causing a gas leak, which forced residents to flee their homes. The smoke from the gas leak on the TNP had spread through the community.
There were also reported multiple attacks by the vandals on Shell and NAOC facilities in the area between Monday 15 and Thursday 18 June, 2026, which resulted in a fire incident and gas leak.
