
Experts in the field of chemical sciences have urged professionals in chemistry-related fields to use artificial intelligence ethically and responsibly for the benefit of humanity and the environment.
They made the call at the maiden Conference of the Chemical Society of Nigeria, Lagos State chapter, held at the University of Lagos, Akoka, on Tuesday.
The conference was themed, ‘Responsible AI in Chemical Sciences for Advancing Security, Ethics and Sustainable Environment.’
The Chemical Society of Nigeria is a professional body that brings together graduates of chemistry and other professionals involved in chemistry-related activities.
While delivering his keynote speech, Prof Omotayo Arotiba said that while artificial intelligence has come to stay, professionals in the field of chemical sciences must use AI responsibly.
