The Association of Resident Doctors at Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital (OOUTH), Sagamu, Ogun State, has suspended its 10‑day warning strike following commitments from the state government to pay members’ professional allowances by July 31, 2026.
The decision was reached after a meeting with the Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Tokunbo Talabi, and the Head of Service, Mr. Olanrewaju Saka, alongside leaders of the Nigeria Medical Association in Ogun State.
Announcing the suspension, ARD President Dr. John Omotoso said members were directed to resume work by 8 a.m. on Thursday, June 25, 2026.
He noted that the association’s Congress resolved to halt the industrial action after “a thorough appraisal of the demands and progress made thus far.”
Omotoso added that an Emergency General Meeting will be convened on August 1, 2026, to review the situation and decide on further steps.
