Edo to create jobs, promote hospitality sector through tourism

The Edo State Government has expressed readiness to explore the existing 72 tourism assets in the state to promote hospitality business, create employment and other ancillary ventures in the state.

The Director-General of the Edo State Tourism Agency, Mrs Vivian Elabor, stated this while addressing journalists on Wednesday in Benin on the First EdoTourism Summit and Fashion Show billed for June 29th and 30th.

Elabor identified the Benin moat, Ososo carnival, Kukuruku Hills, several festivals in Ubiaja, dress partners and several others as some of the assets.

She said, “The administration of Governor Monday Okpebholo is ready to explore the existing 72 tourism assets in the state to promote hospitality business, create employment and other ancillary ventures in the state.

“If the sector is developed, residents can improve their livelihood by tapping into the opportunities within the sector.”
