As the group stage of the FIFA World Cup 2026 nears its conclusion, attention is beginning to shift to the knockout rounds, with several nations already securing their places in the Round of 32.
The latest qualifications were confirmed following the completion of Wednesday’s fixtures, while several final group-stage matches are still to be played.
Later today, Ivory Coast will face Curacao, while Germany take on Ecuador as teams continue their push for places in the knockout phase.
Mexico became the first nation to qualify for the Round of 32, followed closely by fellow co-hosts the United States. Both teams secured top spots in their respective groups after winning their opening two matches.
The knockout stage begins with the Round of 32, which will be played from June 28 to July 3. The format has been introduced following FIFA’s expansion of the tournament from 32 to 48 teams.
