
Following the immediate intervention of the Ogun State Government, the Association of Resident Doctors of the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital (OOUTH), Sagamu, has suspended its 10-day warning strike.
Recall that the ARD executives had directed members to proceed on the warning strike on Tuesday over the non-implementation of packages bordering on welfare, insecure working environment, among others.
The association’s President, Dr John Omotoso, in a statement issued on Thursday, said the decision to suspend the warning strike became imperative following a meeting held with the Secretary to the State Government, Mr Tokunbo Talabi, the Head of Service, Mr Saka Olanrewaju, and the leadership of the Nigeria Medical Association, Ogun State Branch.
He stated that part of the agreement reached was the commitment of the government to pay its members’ professional allowance on or before July 31, 2026.
Omotoso therefore directed members of the association to resume duty by 8.00
