The Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, Akwa Ibom sector, has solicited collaboration with the Office of the First Lady to create safer roads in Akwa Ibom with Zero fatalities.
Felicia Kalu, Sector Commander of the State, made the appeal during a courtesy visit on Helen Eno Obareki, First Lady-designate.
He said, “Actually, the job of the Road Safety is to ensure a Nigeria with Zero fatalities, arising from road traffic crashes.
“Accidents will surely happen, but we are looking forward to a time, when those crashes will not lead to death.
And to achieve that, we need to focus on the four E’s, which is Engineering, Enforcement, Education and Emergency care.”
Kalu particularly sought assistance from the first lady to identify areas in need, including Signages, road bumps and other road safety infrastructure.
She also requested collaboration to set up road safety clubs in schools; advocacy in churches , motor parks
