Kebbi Government Rejects Maidoki’s Claim Over APC Ticket Loss

The Kebbi State Government has dismissed allegations by Senator Garba Musa Maidoki, representing Kebbi South, that he was denied the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket for re-election due to his criticism of insecurity in the state.

In a statement issued by Governor Nasir Idris’s Chief Press Secretary, Ahmed Idris, the government described Maidoki’s remarks as misleading and an attempt to justify his failure to secure the party’s ticket.

Maidoki had alleged on Channels Television that his outspoken stance on insecurity in Kebbi South, particularly in the Zuru axis plagued by bandit attacks, cost him the APC ticket.

Responding, the government emphasized that tackling insecurity is a collective responsibility involving authorities, security agencies, traditional leaders, and residents. 

It questioned Maidoki’s performance, noting that if his primary motivation for entering politics was to fight insecurity, then the electorate had the right to judge whether he delivered on that promise.
