Emeka Joseph, the man captured in a widely circulated video allegedly assaulting a woman identified as Ezeka (or Ezaka) Chisom, has been remanded in Kirikiri Correctional Centre, Lagos State.
According to a statement issued on Thursday, June 25, 2026, by the Lagos State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Adebisi, the suspect was arrested by operatives following a tip-off from an informant.
Preliminary investigations revealed that Joseph assaulted the victim, with whom he had been cohabiting. The victim sustained injuries to her face during the incident.
Joseph was subsequently charged to court and remanded at the Kirikiri Correctional Centre. The case has been adjourned till August 3, 2026.
The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Tijani Fatai, reiterated the command’s zero tolerance for all forms of domestic violence. He assured members of the public that such cases will receive prompt attention and urged residents to report incidents of domestic violence and other crimes
