
The Kwara State Police Command has commenced a new health intervention aimed at reducing cases of sudden collapse and death among police personnel, following the official flag-off of the “Know Your Number” campaign in Ilorin.
The development was disclosed in a statement issued on Tuesday by the Police Public Relations Officer of the command, Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, a copy of which was made available to Arewa PUNCH in Ilorin.
The initiative, introduced under the medical welfare programme of the Nigeria Police Force is designed to promote routine health awareness, early detection of illnesses, and improved medical monitoring among officers and men of the Force.
The campaign was formally launched by the Director of Force Medical Services, Nkechi Ifeoma, who said the programme targets preventable conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, and prostate cancer, which often go undetected until they become life-threatening.
