CIoD Nigeria announces women directors conference

The Chartered Institute of Directors Nigeria has announced plans to host its 2026 Women Directors’ Biennial Conference in Lagos, as discussions around leadership and representation continue to reshape corporate governance across Africa.

The conference, scheduled for 1 July at the Wole Soyinka Centre for Cultural and Creative Arts, Iganmu, aims to address how female executives can build and exercise genuine authority at the highest levels of institutional decision-making.

Organised under the theme, “From Presence to Power: Advancing Women’s Influence in the Boardroom,” the event will examine the critical transition from mere token representation to impactful leadership that shapes strategy and economic direction.

Speaking ahead of the event, the Chairperson of the Women’s Sectoral Group of the CIoD, Ronke Sokefun, emphasised that while corporate diversity has improved, the core challenge remains the execution of real authority.
