UNIMEDTH hails Aiyedatiwa over enhanced health workers’ allowances

The management of the University of Medical Sciences Teaching Hospital (UNIMEDTH), Ondo, has commended the state governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, for approving the enhanced Professional Table Allowance and Specialist Allowance for healthcare workers under the CONMESS and CONHESS salary structures.

The commendation was contained in a statement signed by the Chief Medical Director of the hospital, Prof. Olumide Gbala, who described the governor’s decision as a landmark intervention that has significantly boosted staff morale and improved healthcare delivery.

He added that the implementation of the enhanced allowances has positioned Ondo State as the first state in the South-West and among the first in the country to implement the improved welfare package for healthcare professionals.

According to the CMD, the improved welfare package has already begun attracting consultants and other highly skilled healthcare professionals from across the country, with UNIMEDTH recording the highest influx of specialists in its eight-year history.
