The Federal Government is set to launch a comprehensive digital platform designed to track every school and learner across Nigeria, aiming to resolve long-standing issues of fragmented and unreliable education data.

The Digital National Education Management Information System (DNEMIS) will be unveiled on Wednesday alongside the launch of the Public DNEMIS Portal and the inauguration of State Implementation Teams.

Announcing the initiative at a media briefing in Abuja on Monday, National Project Coordinator Adebayo Onigbanjo explained that the platform addresses years of weak data systems that have hampered effective planning, policymaking, and service delivery in the education sector.

“For many years, education planning and administration relied on fragmented systems, inconsistent reporting structures and limited access to reliable and timely data,” Onigbanjo said.

He described DNEMIS as a core component of the Nigeria Education Data Infrastructure (NEDI), which will create a unified national database capturing information on learners, teachers, schools, and public investments in education.
