Armed terrorists launched a fresh attack on Ungwan Atiku village in Kachia Local Government Area of Kaduna State, killing one resident and abducting 11 others, including three nursing mothers and their infants.

The incident, which occurred on Sunday, June 28, was confirmed by Reuben Buhari, former media aide to the late Governor Patrick Yakowa.

Buhari said the attackers stormed the community at night, shooting sporadically. Mr. Joseph Simon was killed before the assailants whisked away the victims.

Those abducted include Deborah David and her baby, Rejoice Jonathan and her baby, Deborah Aminu and her baby, Loise Geoffrey, Gerard Geoffrey, Mercy Timothy, Jummai Sunday, and Wisdom Doctor.

The abduction of nursing mothers and their infants has deepened fears among residents about the safety of vulnerable victims in captivity, especially women and children.

The attack worsens the humanitarian crisis in Southern Kaduna, where many residents remain in captivity from earlier assaults.
