PFIPC Scandal: Fagbemi names top government officials who should be suspended

A political scientist and analyst, Dr Kunle Fagbemi, has named certain top government officials who should be placed on administrative leave over the contentious fake agency saga involving Femi Gbajabiamila, Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu.

Speaking during an interview on Arise Television’s ‘Morning Show’ on Monday, Fagbemi said Gbajabiamila, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, George Akume and Accountant-General of the Federation, Shamseldeen Ogunjimi, must recuse themselves from their positions.

Other are the Central Bank, CBN, Governor, Olayemi Cardoso; Director-General of the Budget Office of the Federation, Tanimu Yakubu; and Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs Didi Esther Walson-Jack.

Recall that ‘the Director General of the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council, PFIPC’, Adeniyi Adeyemi alleged that Gbajabiamila received N400 million through a proxy and demanded an additional N200 million to secure his appointment.

The Presidency has, however, debunked the allegation, saying Gbajabiamila cannot write letters or give appointments.

Fielding questions during the interview, Fagbemi said, “The Presidency of Nigeria is solely vested in the President of Nigeria.

“An audit of all offices and residential areas in the State House must be carried out. President Tinubu should institute a panel of inquiry against this ‘fake agency’.

“In furtherance of the procedure of the public service rule, I invite the following officers under the auspices of the directives from the incumbent President to be asked to proceed on administrative leave.
