Bobrisky, the self-proclaimed transgender woman, says she continues to undergo HIV testing every six months, even though she has not been sexually active in years.
In a post shared on her Instagram story on Monday, the crossdresser, born Idris Okuneye, said her decision is driven by a commitment to preventive health rather than a reliance on treatment.
“I’m so weird. Every six months, I still go for an HIV test– even though I haven’t been with anyone in years,” she wrote.
“God knows I just don’t like taking chances or relying on medication. Prevention and peace of mind will always win.”
Bobrisky, who has long been a controversial figure in Nigeria’s entertainment scene, has kept her romantic life largely private.
In September 2021, Bobrisky said she decided to become a woman after struggling for years as a man without progress.
