Two high-ranking terrorist commanders surrender to troops in Yobe

​Operation Hadin Kai has recorded a significant breakthrough in the ongoing counter-terrorism campaign following the surrender of two senior commanders to troops of Sector 2 in the Geidam axis of Yobe State. Captain Mohammed Goni, Acting Media Information Officer for the Headquarters Joint Task Force (North East), announced the development to journalists in Maiduguri on Tuesday, confirming the individuals surrendered on 4 July 2026.

​The surrendered terrorists, identified as Munzirs within the insurgent leadership structure, arrived in Maiduguri at approximately 1930 hours on 5 July 2026. They are currently in military custody, where they are undergoing detailed profiling, debriefing, and intelligence exploitation.
