Nigeria, Poland sign digital transformation, AI pact at WSIS 2026

Nigeria and Poland have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen bilateral cooperation in digital transformation, artificial intelligence (AI) and emerging technologies, deepening collaboration on innovation, digital skills and technology policy.

The agreement was signed on the sidelines of the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) Forum 2026 in Geneva, Switzerland, marking another step in Nigeria’s strategy to expand international partnerships that support the country’s digital economy agenda.

Under the MoU, both countries will collaborate on digital transformation, AI, emerging technologies, innovation ecosystems, capacity building, knowledge exchange, and the development of policy and regulatory frameworks that promote responsible, secure and inclusive digital growth.

The agreement also seeks to strengthen collaboration among government institutions, universities, research organisations, startups and private sector companies in both countries, creating new opportunities for technology transfer, joint research, innovation and digital skills development.
