
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has won all 18 chairmanship seats in the Edo State local government election held today, Saturday, July 11.
The election was conducted by the Edo State Independent Electoral Commission (EDSIEC) across the state’s 18 local government areas to elect chairmen and councillors.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that Governor Monday Okpebholo cast his vote at Ward 2, Udomi Primary School in Esan Central Local Government Area. He arrived at his polling unit at about 10:24 a.m., joined other voters in the queue and voted at exactly 10:40 a.m.
Speaking after voting, the governor praised the peaceful conduct of the election and the turnout of voters.
“This election is very peaceful, and it is going smoothly based on the feedback we are getting from the field,” Okpebholo said.
