Doris Ogala, the Nollywood actress, has declared that she will become the governor of Abia, insisting that residents of the state have “no choice”.
Ogala emerged as the governorship candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC) for the upcoming Abia election, where she will be competing against incumbent Governor Alex Otti and other candidates.
The actress said she decided to run for political office because of her desire to transform Abia. She argued that the state has failed to realise its full potential despite the resilience of its people.
She pledged to rebuild infrastructure, empower young people and restore the state’s pride if elected, describing her ambition as a commitment to “liberate my people”.
