The National Youth Wing of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has unveiled a ₦17.5 million grant to support young innovators in Nigeria’s energy sector, pledging full backing for President Bola Tinubu’s renewable energy reforms.
APC National Youth Leader, Dayo Israel, announced the initiative on Monday at the opening of the Dr Mustapha Abdullahi Energy Leadership Fellowship in Abuja.
The seven-day residential program is designed to train young professionals in renewable energy, energy transition policies, climate action, leadership, and governance.
Israel stressed that inadequate power generation and distribution remain critical challenges for Nigeria’s economy.
He noted that the fellowship would connect participants with agencies such as the Energy Commission of Nigeria and the Rural Electrification Agency, fostering partnerships to tackle energy gaps.
“Energy is central to industrialisation and small business growth. The President has invested heavily in renewable energy, and we must support his vision. This fellowship ensures young Nigerians can engage with policymakers and contribute
