The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has accused Governor Ademola Adeleke of misleading a visiting British Government delegation regarding allegations of political violence ahead of the August 15 governorship election.
In a statement issued on Monday by the party’s Director of Media and Information, Kola Olabisi, the APC claimed that Governor Adeleke presented inaccurate information during the delegation’s visit.
The party was responding to reports that Adeleke appealed to the British delegation led by Senior Political Adviser Wale Adebajo to impose economic sanctions and visa restrictions on certain APC leaders over alleged involvement in political violence.
The Osun APC rejected the claims, stating that none of its leaders had been indicted or found guilty by any court or commission of inquiry for aiding or abetting political violence in the state.
