The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has formally endorsed President Bola Tinubu as its preferred candidate for the 2027 general elections.
Speaking on the development, APGA’s National Publicity Secretary, Mazi Ejimofor Opara, clarified that the absence of a presidential candidate’s name on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) portal should not be seen as a breach of electoral guidelines.
According to Opara, the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) reached the decision after what he described as “extensive consultations,” concluding that backing Tinubu’s second-term ambition aligns with the broader national interest.
He emphasized that APGA remains actively engaged in the electoral process, having successfully submitted candidates for the National Assembly and State Houses of Assembly elections.
“We have not uploaded a presidential candidate because the NEC has already taken a decision to support President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in 2027,” Opara stated.
