
The All Progressives Congress in Jigawa State has suspended a member of the House of Representatives, Ibrahim Kamfani Auyo, and six other party officials over alleged anti-party activities.
The party’s Publicity Secretary, Bashir Kundu, disclosed this in a statement made available to journalists in Dutse on Monday.
Kamfani represents Auyo/Hadejia/Kafin Hausa Federal Constituency in the National Assembly.
The suspension followed a controversy that emerged after a viral video showed the lawmaker receiving a large crowd of supporters in Auyo after losing the APC ticket for the 2027 general election.
In the video seen by our correspondent, supporters were allegedly heard chanting slogans against the party leadership and threatening to work against the APC in future elections.
Kundu said the suspension took effect on May 31, 2026, and was based on allegations of misconduct and breaches of party rules.
