Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has announced an upgrade to the state’s security architecture.

The governor in a statement on Tuesday, outlined proactive measures to protect local communities and schools.

The development comes on the heels of the mass abduction of pupils and teachers in neighbouring Oyo State, a crisis that recently prompted Oyo public school teachers to embark on an indefinite strike to demand the rescue of those still held in captivity.

In a statement, Governor Adeleke revealed that he has held extensive consultations with both formal and informal security groups across the state. He said the administration has activated grassroots forces, including local hunters, the Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC), Agbekoya, and the Amotekun Corps, before holding an expanded State Security Council session with top service commanders to coordinate their actions.

The governor also stated that he has personally contacted the Osun State Traditional Council of Obas through the Ooni
