World record holder in the women’s 100m hurdles, Tobi Amusan, believes she was close to her best at the Rabat Diamond League on Sunday, where she set a new meeting record to claim her first victory in the series this season, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.

The Nigerian broke her own meeting record by storming to victory in 12.28s, equalling the season’s best she had set earlier in the campaign.

Having finished second at the Xiamen Diamond League, Amusan went one better in Rabat, crossing the line ahead of Devynne Charlton, who was second in 12.40s, while Nadine Visser placed third in 12.47s.

Amusan’s winning time of 12.28s is the joint-third fastest of her career. Her world record of 12.12s, set at the 2022 World Championships in Oregon, remains her fastest ever performance, followed by the 12.24s she clocked at the Meeting de Paris last year.

Having continued her steady improvement
