President Bola Tinubu has written to the Senate seeking confirmation of Dr. Zainab Marwa as a member of the Governing Board of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), representing the North-East geopolitical zone.
The request was contained in a letter read on the floor of the Senate on Thursday by Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
Tinubu said the nomination was made in line with Section 2 of the NDDC Establishment Act and is aimed at filling the vacancy left by the resignation of the former North-East representative, Hon. Abdulrazak Namdas.
According to the President, Namdas stepped down from the board on March 30, 2026, to pursue the Adamawa State governorship election.
The letter read in part: “I am pleased to present for confirmation by the Senate the nomination of Dr. Zainab Marwa as member representing the North-East in the Governing Board of the Niger Delta Development Commission.”
