
The Federal Government has assured Nigerians that all students and teachers abducted by armed groups across the country will be safely rescued.
Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, gave the assurance during a National Press Briefing in Abuja on Thursday, June 4, 2026.
Idris called for stronger collaboration among Nigerians, the media, civil society organisations, and security agencies in the fight against terrorism and other forms of violent extremism.
“Defeating terrorism requires a united national response that transcends political, ethnic, religious, and regional differences.
“Terrorism has no tribe, no religion, and no political affiliation. Its only purpose is destruction,” Idris said.
The minister also launched the hashtag #UniteAgainstTerror, while reaffirming President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s commitment to securing the safe return of all abducted schoolchildren and teachers.
