
Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has ordered the restriction of motorcycle operations across the state between 10:30 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. as part of efforts to address growing security concerns.
Makinde announced the directive in an Executive Order issued on Friday, DailyPost reports.
He said the measure forms part of the state’s ongoing efforts to combat criminal activities and secure the release of abducted teachers and schoolchildren.
Makinde reiterated his administration’s commitment to ensuring the safe return of the victims, stressing that every day they remain in captivity brings pain and anxiety to their families and the people of Oyo State.
He assured residents that security agencies and relevant authorities were working tirelessly to secure the victims’ freedom, describing their continued captivity as one of the most difficult challenges confronting his government.
