Four NYSC Members, Soldier Die in Adamawa Road Crash

Tragedy struck in Adamawa State on Wednesday when a road accident claimed the lives of four members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) and a soldier along the Yola–Mubi highway.

The crash occurred at about 1:50 p.m. in the Narehi area of Girei/Song Local Government Area. According to a statement released Thursday by the Adamawa State Police Command spokesman, SP Suleiman Nguroje, the accident involved a military gun truck traveling from Gombi to Yola and a commercial Hummer bus heading from Yola to Mubi.

Preliminary investigations revealed that both vehicles collided head-on, causing the bus to overturn and burst into flames. All five passengers in the bus were burnt beyond recognition.

Police confirmed that four of the deceased were serving corps members posted to Adamawa State. They were identified as Suleiman Juliet, a female, and Usman Shuaibu, a male, both from Kaduna State. The identities of the remaining victims are yet to
