Four members of the National Youth Service Corps and a soldier have lost their lives in a tragic road accident along the Yola-Mubi highway in Adamawa State.
The fatal crash occurred on Wednesday afternoon in the Narehi area between Girei and Song Local Government Areas of the state.
Confirming the incident in a statement issued on Thursday, the spokesman for the Adamawa State Police Command, SP Suleiman Nguroje, said the accident involved a military gun truck travelling from Gombi to Yola and a commercial Hummer bus conveying passengers from Yola to Mubi.
Nguroje said preliminary investigations showed that both vehicles collided head-on, causing the commercial bus to overturn and burst into flames.
