The Police Command in Ogun says it has arrested seven suspects for alleged armed robbery, housebreaking, stealing, conspiracy, and conduct likely to cause a breach of the peace in separate operations across the state.
The command’s spokesperson, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, disclosed this in a statement issued on Friday in Abeokuta.
Babaseyi said that the arrests were made during coordinated intelligence-driven operations carried out by operatives in the Sango-Ota, Owode-Egba, and Agbado Divisions.
He said operatives of the Sango-Ota Division arrested three suspects identified as Pelumi Akintonde (21), Mojeed Sanusi (28) and Mubarak Lateef (17) over an alleged armed robbery incident in Alasia community.
According to him, the suspects allegedly participated in an attack on a resident during which valuables were forcefully taken.
He said a locally fabricated cut-to-size pistol and an expended cartridge were recovered from the suspects, adding that efforts were ongoing to arrest other members of the gang
