A series of videos capturing the state of the Nsukka Road in Enugu State following a heavy downpour on Friday has sparked concern and debate on social media.
One of the most widely circulated video clips showed commercial and private vehicles broken down on the flooded road
The video captured a scene where a state-branded commercial Coaster bus, bearing the portrait of Governor Peter Mbah, was forced to halt.
An onlooker and narrator in the video could be heard instructing the passengers to alight from the vehicle to help another motorist whose car had stopped in the middle of the road.
“Come down and walk so that you’ll tell Peter Mbah what you’re passing through on Enugu road,” the narrator said in a mix of English and Pidgin. “See vehicles that have spoilt on the road. Tell Peter Mbah to come and fix the Enugu road in Nsukka.”
