The Federal Government has flagged off the Gombe–Biu Super Highway, a key component of the Akwanga-Jos–Bauchi–Gombe–Biu–Maiduguri Dualization Project, which connects five Northern States, namely, Nasarawa, Plateau, Bauchi, Gombe and Borno.
David Umahi, the Minister of Works, at the event expressed confidence that Nigeria’s security challenges would be overcome under President Bola Tinubu’s Administration.
Speaking during the ceremony in Gombe State, Umahi described the project as another demonstration of the Federal Government’s commitment to infrastructure development and national integration.
He commended Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya for the transformation of Gombe State and praised his Administration’s developmental strides.
The minister disclosed that the Federal Government expanded the scope of the Gombe–Biu section following requests from the State Government and assured residents that construction activities would commence within 30 days.
