Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force have rescued the younger sister of former Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, along with her two children, after a daring operation in Ibadan, Oyo State.
The victims, Olaide John-Paul and her 12-year-old twin sons, Peter and Paul were abducted on June 3 while on their way to school.
They were freed unharmed on Saturday evening during a swift operation by the Force Intelligence Department’s Intelligence Response Team (FID-IRT).
According to a statement by the Force Public Relations Officer, DCP Anthony Placid, two members of the kidnapping syndicate were fatally wounded during a confrontation with police operatives around 7:30 pm on Saturday.
Two rifles were also recovered from the scene.“The rescue was achieved through sustained intelligence gathering, surveillance, and tactical operations,” Placid said.
“These efforts enabled investigators to track the kidnappers’ movements, resulting in a confrontation with FID-IRT operatives.”
