
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Monday, June 8, 2026, swore in two new ministers into his cabinet.
Joseph Olasunkanmi Tegbe was sworn in as Minister of Power, while Ambassador Sola Enikanolaiye took the oath as Minister of State for Foreign Affairs at a brief ceremony held at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
The swearing-in followed the resignations of former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Tuggar, and former Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, who stepped down to pursue other political interests.
President Tinubu had earlier nominated the two appointees, who were screened and confirmed by the Nigerian Senate on Wednesday, May 6, 2026.
In a statement, Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, described the new Minister of Power, Joseph Olasunkanmi Tegbe, as a renowned fiscal, economic, and institutional reform strategist with expertise in stakeholder engagement.
