
A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dr. Adetokunbo Pearse, has insisted that the faction linked to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, no longer has legal standing.
Speaking during an interview on Arise Television on Sunday night, Pearse said recent court decisions have settled the dispute over the authentic leadership of the opposition party.
According to him, the issue dates back to the Supreme Court judgment delivered on April 30, the Certified True Copy of which became available on November 1, 2025.
He argued that the ruling had already determined the status of the competing factions within the PDP.
He said those aligned with Senator Samuel Anyanwu challenged the decision in court but suffered another setback after a fresh Appeal Court judgment.
