The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority has confirmed the tragic demise of a commercial bus driver, following a fatal multiple-vehicle collision that occurred earlier today, at Cele Expressway inward Oshodi.
The Director, Public Affairs and Enlightenment of LASTMA, Mr Taofiq Adebayo, said this in a statement issued to newsmen on Tuesday in Lagos.
Adebayo said the unfortunate accident involved a commercial mini bus “Korope” and a Toyota Tundra pickup truck with registration number (EPE 554 YC).
“Preliminary investigations conducted by security personnel at the scene revealed that the driver of the commercial mini bus sustained grievous injuries and died instantly, due to the devastating impact of the collision.
“LASTMA operatives, who were on routine traffic monitoring and surveillance duties within the corridor, swiftly coordinated emergency response efforts, secured the accident site, managed traffic flow and prevented further obstruction along the heavily trafficked route,” he said.
