Accord sensitises agents, residents against vote-trading

The Accord in Ekiti State has commenced sensitisation of its agents across various polling units against vote trading as part of efforts to discourage it in the June 20 governorship election.

Its state chairman, Mr Phillip Adeniji, who described vote trading as an obstacle to the emergence of credible candidates in elections, said the party was out to make vote selling and buying impossible in next week’s poll.

Adeniji, in a chat with journalists in Ado Ekiti on Tuesday, said, “In the course of the sensitisation, our message to the Accord polling agents and Ekiti residents generally is for them to be on the alert and make sure none of the political parties carries out the act of buying or selling votes during this election.

“We in Accord are trying to make this election a template to be emulated going forward into any other election.
