The immediate past Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, has declared that his Personal Assistant, Ajiboye Sangogade, has no link to the recent abduction of one of his sisters and her twins.
Adelabu made the declaration in a statement made available to DAILY POST on Wednesday through his media aide, Comrade Femi Awogboro.
DAILY POST gathered that Mrs. Busayo Adegoke, one of the younger sisters of the former minister, and her twins were kidnapped last Wednesday.
The victims were subsequently rescued by a combined team of security operatives on Saturday in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
Our correspondent gathered that rumours surfaced at the weekend alleging that Ajiboye had links to the abduction by supplying information to the kidnappers.
Adelabu, however, described the rumour as false and baseless.
The former minister, in the statement, advised those spreading the rumour to desist from doing so.
He said that his PA had no involvement in the abduction.
Adelabu further maintained that those spreading the rumour were doing so to distract his attention.
He said, “It has come to our notice that some individuals, who are enemies of progress and the development of Oyo State, are circulating rumours that the Personal Assistant to Chief Adebayo Adelabu, Ajiboye Sangogade, orchestrated the kidnapping of Chief Adelabu’s sister and nephews in Ibadan.
“We categorically reject this claim because it is entirely false and without any basis.”
