Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has approved a major reshuffle involving his special advisers, appointing new officials and reassigning others as part of efforts to improve government performance in Kano State.

The changes were announced on Thursday in a statement by the Director-General of Media and Publicity at the Government House, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa.

As part of the restructuring, the governor scrapped the positions of Special Adviser on Domestic Affairs and Special Adviser on Liaison Offices in Abuja.

The officials previously occupying those roles were moved to new assignments.

Habiba Mustapha Barwa, who served as Special Adviser on Domestic Affairs, was reassigned as Special Adviser on Special Duties (Women). Umar Uba Akawu, formerly Special Adviser on Liaison Offices, Abuja, was moved to the Cabinet Office as Special Adviser on Political Affairs.

Several other advisers were also given new responsibilities. Akibu Isa Murtala was transferred from Administration in the Governor’s Office to Human Resources, while Ibrahim Adam moved from Information to Social Media. Nasiru Isa Dikko was reassigned from NGOs to Empowerment.

The governor also appointed Bello Nuhu Bello as Special Adviser on Administration in the Governor’s Office. Before the promotion, he served as Senior Special Assistant on Administration.

Among the new appointees are Ahmed Muhammad Aruwa, a former APC state publicity secretary, who was named Special Adviser on Publicity, and Buhari Sule Kura, who will serve as Special Adviser on NGOs.

Yahuza Ado Yankaba was elevated from Senior Special Assistant to Special Adviser on Motor Parks.
