
The All Progressives Congress, Anambra State chapter, has ratified the expulsion of seven members of the party over alleged violations of party guidelines and litigation arising from the aftermath of its recent primary elections.
The decision was taken during a stakeholders’ meeting in Awka, on Friday, presided over by the State Chairman, Senator Emma Anosike.
Recall that before primaries, the party had expelled 30 of its members for dragging it to court without first exhausting internal options for resolving disputes or disagreements.
Those whose expulsions were ratified at the Friday meeting were the state party Legal Adviser, Richard Egenti; Ifeanyi Osegbo, Chukwudi Oji, Arinze Awogu, Tony Uche Ezekwelu, Bossy Nwoye, and Uju Onyeanusi.
The party insisted that the disciplinary measures were taken in line with the party’s constitution and internal regulations aimed at preserving discipline and unity within the APC.
