
Former Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF), Abubakar Malami, has called for stronger action against banditry and insurgency following the death of retired Major General Rabe Abubakar in captivity.
Rabe, a former Director of Defence Information, reportedly died after he was abducted by bandits in Katsina state.
In a statement issued on Sunday, Malami described the late military officer as a patriot whose death underscores the security challenges confronting the country.
“I received with deep sadness the news of the death of Major General Rabe Abubakar (Rtd.), a distinguished officer, patriot, and former Director of Defence Information, while in captivity.
“His service to our nation was marked by courage, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to duty. This tragic loss is a painful reminder of the security challenges confronting our country.
“General Rabe’s death is both tragic and a stark reflection of the daily horrors many Nigerians continue to endure,”
