2027: Most Party Primaries Were Fraudulent – Sam Amadi

The Director of the Abuja School of Social and Political Thought, Sam Amadi, has declared that most of the recently concluded primary elections across Nigeria’s political parties were fraudulent.

Amadi made the assertion during an interview on Arise Television, noting that the flawed processes have heightened internal conflicts within the parties and significantly weakened their leadership structures.

According to him, many political parties lack the institutional strength to enforce discipline among aspirants and members, allowing undue influences particularly from governors  to determine outcomes.

“Most party primaries were fraudulent. Even some of the House of Representatives aspirants were favoured by zoning but somehow they don’t get into the list, so governors’ influence matters,” Amadi said.

He cited the situation in Delta State as an example, where former Governor Ifeanyi Okowa reportedly displaced Senator Ned Nwoko, despite the latter’s performance, due to structural changes and new entrants crowding out established members.

Amadi’s comments come amid growing concerns
