Police arrest five suspects over alleged murder, armed robbery in Bauchi

The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested five suspects in separate operations linked to alleged culpable homicide and armed robbery cases in Bauchi and Ningi Local Government Areas of the state.
The Command said three suspects were arrested in connection with the killing of a resident of Miri Village in Bauchi Local Government Area, while two others were apprehended over an armed robbery attack on a commercial motorcyclist in Ningi.

In a statement issued by the Spokesman of the Command, SP Nafiu Habib, the three suspects arrested over the alleged homicide were identified as Rabiyu Sanda, 16, Muhammad Abubakar, 21, and Suleiman Nura, 21, all residents of Miri Village.

According to the police, operatives attached to the ‘B’ Division, GRA, arrested the suspects on June 13, 2026, following an investigation into an incident that occurred on June 11, 2026.

The statement said preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects allegedly conspired and carried out the act following a misunderstanding with the deceased.

The police further disclosed that the suspects voluntarily confessed to the offence during interrogation and provided useful information that aided the investigation.

The case has since been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation, after which the suspects are expected to be charged in court.

In a separate development, detectives attached to the Ningi Division arrested two suspects over an alleged armed robbery attack on a 22-year-old commercial motorcyclist.
