2027: I’ll Stop Campaigning if Anyone Can Prove I Took Labour Party Donations — Peter Obi

Peter Obi, the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate, has issued a strong challenge to his critics, declaring that he will halt his 2027 presidential campaign if anyone can prove he personally took even 1% of the Labour Party’s donations from the 2023 election cycle.

Obi made the remark during an exclusive interview on Nevon Media with host Oseni Rufai on Tuesday, June 17, 2026. He was responding to allegations that he and human rights activist Aisha Yesufu siphoned funds from Labour Party accounts.

“I don’t go by people talking nonsense and listen to them,” Obi said. He dismissed claims that he and his associates withdrew ₦10 billion or $30 million from the party’s account, asking, “Where is the account?”

The former Anambra State governor further stated that he plans to publicly list all his accusers and challenge them to provide concrete evidence of any financial mismanagement or personal gain on his part.
