Brymo has called on his colleagues to make way for the next generation, arguing that the current dominance of a few big names is stifling emerging talent.
Speaking on TVC, the outspoken artiste took aim at the “Big 3” narrative in Afrobeats, accusing Wizkid, Davido, and Burna Boy of clinging to influence and blocking opportunities for rising stars.
He insisted that younger acts like Rema should be leading pop conversations instead of veterans who, in his view, have stopped evolving.
“We need to stop talking about how new artists don’t have substance,” Brymo said. “The industry needs to focus on the barbaric behaviour in the background—some artists trying to lock down the industry for themselves, calling themselves ‘Big 3,’ ‘Big 4,’ wanting to be forever. They have four or five children at home, and they want to sing about ‘shake body.’
