The presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi, has challenged his accusers to provide evidence that he misappropriated funds donated to the Labour Party during the 2023 general elections.
Obi made the statement on Tuesday during an exclusive interview on Nevon Media hosted by Oseni Rufai.
He was responding to allegations that he and human rights activist Aisha Yesufu diverted donations made to the Labour Party ahead of the 2023 polls.
Dismissing the claims as baseless, Obi questioned the existence of the account from which the funds were allegedly taken.
“I don’t go by people talking nonsensical things and listen to them. They said that we took ₦10 billion or $30 million from the Labour Party’s account. Where is the account?” he asked.
The former Anambra State governor said he was compiling a list of individuals making such allegations and would challenge them to substantiate their claims.
