We’ll cooperate with federal authorities, security agencies to fight insecurity – Makinde

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has stated that his Administration remains committed to deepening cooperation and collaborative efforts with federal authorities and security agencies towards ensuring a safe and secure environment for residents of the state.

The governor said his Administration had done much in supporting security agencies, adding that it is ready to do more towards combating the insecurity challenges in the State.

While receiving Adegoke Fayoade, Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of the South-West, at his Office, Governor Makinde also used the occasion to express gratitude to the Inspector-General of Police, Tunji Disu, for the support provided since students and teachers were abducted in Oriire Local Government, including the deployment of a helicopter and personnel.

This was as he lauded the recently launched Violent Crimes Unit, an initiative of the IGP, which he noted had already proved effective in Oyo State, citing how the unit
