Dangote Cement Plc expanded its intervention in Nigeria’s agricultural sector, rolling out its 2026 farmers’ empowerment programme to support 60 farmers across 17 host communities around its Ibese plant in Ogun State.
The initiative, which is a key component of the company’s corporate social responsibility strategy, aims to enhance crop yields, improve productivity, and strengthen livelihoods across the agricultural value chain in its host communities.
According to a statement by the manufacturer, each beneficiary received three bags of 50kg NPK fertiliser, two bags of Urea fertiliser, one knapsack sprayer, and 10 litres of Force-Up herbicide, alongside practical training on modern farming techniques.
Ayyagari Subbaraidu, head of dangote cement plc, Ibese Plant, said the programme is designed to build a sustainable agricultural ecosystem and support local food production.
